Metro Exodus

It wasn’t a promising game for me. Videos with gameplay of level of the Caspian Sea confirmed my thoughts and gave the final verdict. After almost six years later I saw mistakes, which were in previous parts where of none of them I didn’t saw credits. In this case, Metro Exodus became an exclusion, but it was an only thing.

I have parallel feelings. Metro Exodus reminded me Russian games of 00s due to senseless of wild screenplay, place of action, technical difficulties, unrealistic physics in subjects and weapons, amazing poses of corpses, strange damage system, faddy in foolishness AI and gameplay where you just go through corridor levels and kill with sometimes search of leverage for a door. From other view, it’s an absolutely modern console game where you a lot of time watching staged scenes, often press a button and restricted in movement. To corridor levels developers also made open range levels, but you willn’t feel free yourself, because a way to mission point means walks to shooting locations. In Metro Exodus, I felt as an actor for whom still not write talk words, who signed a contract only for money reasons and here will never have a possibility to use skills, because strict director, who filmed only fast-made films for grindhouse theaters before and now one of top studios hired him and gave a big budget. The game tries to show a difference from previous parts in upgrade of weapons and possibility to change a time of day by sleep (strange thing for plot’s circumstances.), which aren’t give any exclusivity and absolutely worthless in gameplay. Metro Exodus stays same.

I saw in couple game sites a recommendation to play with Russian voice acting. They made a very good job, but Metro Exodus presents a fest of trash and I prefer a caricature Russian pronunciation on English. From whole acting is only well with voice of main hero’s wife Anna. Even with this look I didn’t find a satisfaction. The director wishes only shoot great scenes, as he thinks, but forgetting about sense filmmaker doesn’t intrigues in gameplay. More than once I was taking position and shoot the enemy until elevator (usually.) arriving. Known trick, which became an element for series. Nobody and nothing surprises in this mission pack of tasteless cults, bandits and cannibals, which were meeting in ninety-nine cases of one hundred on the scripted way on the train crossing Russia. Buildings of Soviet time a great source for gloom inspiration, but for me, as a man who has an interest to the story, all of this evokes a disgust. Also, I’m not a fun of landscapes in any part of Russia. Isn’t best in graphics, but Ukrainian developers 4A Games have drown beautiful places. Useless for this game. I didn’t get a pleasure in ordinary shooting when very often straight shot were flown to the nothing or once I threw Molotov cocktail in big ice monkey (which was bigger on the roof.) and it passed a monster’s body. Even in controls offered by developers aren’t comfortable where sometimes easy to press a wrong button. Long loadings recalled same memories with No One Lives Forever-2, but my system requirements weren’t strong then. In Metro Exodus it happens with a great computer. Russian gaming industry calls again. At least, in those games weren’t a request that you must hold any button after this. And save-load were allowing in any time, because without console origin.

Developers would better made a game shorter and spent less time on landscapes from which I’ve got a liking of decoration, because on their snow impossible to leave a footprint. In the third game still limited animation in action or somewhere it still doesn’t exists. No possibility to carry a neutralized person. Physics of subject can create interesting stories. When I had a mission to chain train wagons, on the way I stopped for arrow change and jumped from a moving transport. It had a little speed, which was enough for back movement on initial place to where was also a climb. Not big, but impossible for cross on this speed.

To text of dialogs and sounds of music, I prefer muteness in which main hero was staying until good ending. In this stabile as a communist regime series you once again must play in Jesus Christ if want to get this final (once and more again isn’t good in a plot, directing and commonsense.). You must be maid for everybody (complete uninteresting secondary missions.) and make only humanistic acts. Metro Exodus doesn’t give any reason for hold.

The Wrecker

From many writers of the second half of XIXth Century Robert Louis Stevenson differed in talent of writing and he did it with a quality. I adore of his word. It can write about far-away adventures, fright of desciption of gloom place, scene or whole story can be in these tones, hold in mystery. In books, weren’t types – there are characters with multiplicity of attitudes. David Balfour from “Kidnapped” and “Catriona” isn’t evil man, but our views on many things are differ and he’s boring as a person for me unlike of his companion Alan Breck Stewart whose spirit is near for me. Actions made by heroes not always can be right and committed from dilemma. What I like the most, Stevenson wasn’t anywhere stereotyped in writing.

In last times, I sometimes understand, that some people don’t like to share on genres. The Wrecker begins from drama about a man who wanted to be an artist and even there his life filled of different shades, than it changes on adventure and after that, an introduced genre cooperates with detective story. It happens with countries, where for everyone gives brilliantly described mood, and book itself, which in one moment particularly reminded unfinished in read “The Manuscript Found in Saragossa” (dropped, because count’s realization of this great idea is exaggerated and looks inauthentically, what didn’t allow to finish yet.). I’ve got again a pleasure from author’s word. After reading, I saw a lot of parts of text were needless from my view as an writer. Some of them I would represented in other ways. I didn’t see importance to know main hero’s story from his birth and a few details didn’t look truly for me, but all of this were views of authors. The Wrecker was a second collaboration of Robert Louis Stevenson with his stepson Lloyd Osbourne. I didn’t read others two, but about this one I can write, that together they elaborated characters, but shared between each other parts of the book.
The Wrecker could be a one more spectacular Stevenson’s book and it has a fantastic story, which not ideal.
