Jolt

I consider activity of actors in soap operas as going on job, which equal to an office worker or a miner. I many years ago compared this kind of filming with blockbusters when I see this thing assaulted all American cinema now. No exclusions in size of budget and scale of studio, but little piece of films, which I’m choosing, usually for common definition “generic and lifeless”. No catching attention to directing, characters, cinematography. A uniform thing. Nobody, The Misfits and now is Jolt.

I didn’t view from reality on madness of conception of sparking amok, which have a main heroine Lindy in implementation of Kate Beckinsale whose disease since childhood gave martial arts skills. Occurring in particular absurdity presented with entertainment what is correct for idea. Incidents of aggression, which obstruct for Lindy to do a love relationship have pleasant jokes (alas, some of them are toilet.) and English accent with little bit of that adorable mentality by Kate Beckinsale was giving prettiness for overall action. I never saw an actress as a good performer when she did well in Jolt, but not always succeed (grieving wasn’t believable.). I like origin of her extreme skills and personal tragedy in screenplay from where could be a way forward for films. I suspected that obvious New York streets sceneries were filming from different angles and also possible they were used in The Expendables 2. I didn’t care, because they wasn’t so exposing with scenes made on actual streets and buildings in Bulgaria while for America credibility have few panorama shot as usually it does.
It passed as watchable until half, because next forty-five minutes were for extension of space. A story could finish five minutes later there, but outside and needless actions by the heroine are waiting of plane for hours. A flick stops to entertain and reveals it’s generic nature. Coming of long time later of fighting scenes in two items will in usual staging and therefore acceptance will passive. Presumable main villain in meeting with Lindy for presenting of individuality says something clever as it was about lobsters while revealed actual main villain in performance of Jai Courtney will call a random fact on World War 2, because it doesn’t tie to action.

NB. Actually, I don’t know that dogs with bombs used against tanks. So, I want to thank the film for execution of educational function. 

It possibly was lost of fantasy of author of this screenplay where twist “he is not dead” and explanation of committed actions by the most main villain whom he will for couple of minutes are unexplainable for plot. Jai Courtney was interesting as he was an accountant, because he isn’t an action man who I saw in Die Hard 5. A good actor, but he is not a character. Told story about anti-tank dogs was for sewing on of throwing of sudden bag with a bomb to Courtney. Then a final scene opens a door, which more a cap of Pandora box, for a new generic franchise in which Kate Beckinsale experienced by Underworld series while I need a film with feelings after Jolt, which better search in a previous century.
