John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

Two years passed since release of successful sequel of John Wick, which wasn’t planned to be more of one movie by screenwriter Derek Kolstad. I don’t think that Ms. Perkins would decide to do shooting on territory of Continental if High Table and their too Medieval rules existed in the first film. I’ve forgiven a second part for this. A production time spent for third was shorter. Was it enough?

John Wick 1-2 could centralize on fine gun-action and fantastic story with delightful talks. Films are quoting and have a collection of memorable scenes. In Chapter 3 everybody, who participated in fight scenes, made it with all powers too, but staged choreography always reminds about itself. From a first fist collusion and absurdly death by book (with also fail of sound work.) I lost a contact with the story and standoff looked more a dance then a couple of men were going to kill each other. The main hero will have a lot of strange standoffs with straight appearances of assassins with cold weapon and rare with fire guns. No one of all accusers never use a moment to kill John Wick. Everything are making only for a good shot. Aspiration to make unique murder scenes never hyped me. The third part lost passion of previous chapters everywhere. Continue on fights, it goes slowly, beyond of commonsense and very often I saw blood economy.

John Wick 3 was disclosing theatricality in every aspect. Drama action was outing from reality. Villain characters prefer to have prominent hair and begin meeting with showing of knowledge in history or a poem quote of famous man. It doesn’t make every of them a personality. Carnival personages were in the second movie and I wasn’t charmed in it, but the screenplay was with a sense when the continued film don’t. Following for Orion’s star for find the Elder, main antagonist-assassin is an avid fun of main character, High Table is using needless mass killings of innocent and faceless henchmen of important character for their simple aims – all of that says about absence of enough time for the story. To falling from roof and expecting survive I was indifferent. A couple of remembering scenes in John Wick: Chapter 2 were shootings under Vivaldi’s “Winter” remix and in the Mirror Room. Hear and see similar again in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. 131 minutes is an extended time for this uninteresting screenplay. It hasn’t balance between action and talks. I often wanted of soon over, because I was boring from long fights, their arrived frequencies and drama scenes for a good shot too where dialogs sometimes were written for auditory of cinema hall which I see can laugh from nothing. From performers only Halle Berry was losing acting fire sometimes, but others acted clear.

Original screenplay of John Wick is a great solo story. It little bit differs from released film where I had a question about beginning beating of eponymous character, which in Kolstad’s work explains. I have a feeling of slavery in the third part. I saw it in Keanu Reeves in titular role, Chad Stahelski, who is ready to eternity directing, Derek Kolstad with universe, which can be unlimited, and continuing to pay the audience. I’m not going to be a part of this.
