Rage 2


Rage is a game of monochrome colors. Grey buildings situated in post-apocalyptic desert where people and ugly mutants wear shabby by sand clothes. Rage 2 has brought explosion of bright paints.

However, it doesn't life game. Promising madness in all senses is simulation. Glimmering from nineties shade, when you can carry all existing weapon, impossible to get feel from beginning. It later can see that developers had those aims. Rage 2 piously follows to nowadays standards: open world, GPS, lifebars, search items and from them upgrade weapons, vehicles and itself. Developers don't take risks for experiments.
Screenplay is impossible for surprise. Without matter choose male or female character after introduction where happen meeting with main and absolutely bad guy the game will direct in standard open-world. You must make contact with three characters by complete additional quests. Destination of fifth level with every of them disclose a personal mission. After that march to final epic lone battle against horde of mutants and in the end final struggle with mentioned main absolutely bad guy. Without humble developers promises to continue story in DLCs. Walkthrough isn't take much time. I've spent nine hours when finished main campaign without purpose do it first and only. Developers dropped screenplay in beginning after two death twists. In further relations with few characters will have as they ordering – you execute. Even written text sometimes willn't be sounded.
ID Software studio director Tim Willits recommended to play when you make upgrades. By own opinion, if a game wants to be entertain it doesn't must use RPG-elements. Especially when you search places where those abilities lie. The game must give it through walkthrough and a screenplay story. It’s not a hurdle to complete game with beginning spend much bullets for headshot and lose a lot of health by the way. Rage 2 doesn't funny when you have everything. It doesn’t make faster a kill. Artificial intelligence acts well. The secondary quests doesn't bother by shortness of the game and have a difference (explode all fuel tanks, find corpse of ranger, destroy convoy, clean mutant nest and et cetera.), but gameplay presents a routine work. Loaded with other projects developers worked here with similar efforts as with the script. No demonstration of directing or something creative. Just kill without pleasure. Level choice (with possibility to change in any time.) holds arcade way - makes longer enemy killing. Standoffs with huge mutants follows by shooting in special places with lifebars. The last, whose thrown staff can get in protagonist even when it missed, prefers to stay on own place and make action only from this position. Repeating, uninventive, following to protocols action have a place when playing campaign. Final shooting with BBBB (Banal Big Bad Boss) on BBBM (Banal Big Bad Mutant) is built on shooting to lifebars, of course, then BBBB goes into dark and player must kill arrived bunch of mutants. Do it two times more. With goal to complete all quests will sometimes admit heard before dialog.  
The game doesn’t pleasure, because developers made an economy on physics. Behind explosions absents a staff mess. Body damage of enemies and movement their corpses doesn’t collaborate with reality. In this beautiful and comfortable for eyes, but not great as Metro: Exodus, world is no place for waters for diving. Rage 2 restricts in usual things of this type of games. Other one is impossibility to take weapon of dead enemy. Another more is can’t allow free movement of aim from car’s guns and do same with secondary fire of rocket launcher. In technician, for personal computer can’t change control. I wanted to change some uncomfortable buttons and would rid from hold button when you just call elevator from which can’t jump out in time of movement.
I haven't liked weapon in Rage 2 and don’t like in this game when bullets (with rockets can happen same.) doesn't enter into body. In the game happens crushes. It were in race, when I lost first place, because forward car immediately became a winner after wonder of a car physics (isn’t perfect, but playable except motorcycles.). Some of abilities, shot from any gun, health pack or defibrillator, jump or something else can doesn't work. Made upgrade can forget and doesn’t exclude promised. The last stage of fight with the boss pushed me to reload, because he won’t out from a shadow and I spent maybe twenty minutes more in moment when I had the most chances for win. In the game possible get wound and die without explanation when you even stay behind of the wall. I have enough pretenses to gameplay: some abilities doesn’t work on enemies with shield and from where appears so many grenades?

Rage 2 is a game for a quarter report. Where is Ion Maiden? By playing, I was thinking about it. I strongly want this game. Hope, it willn’t disappoint.
