Almost one year
ago, Ghostrunner was introduced on Gamescom with a curious gameplay video of
the demo-version, which after that had visits on many exhibitions. It is still
a mysterious project and information about a plot and a game in very tiny size
appeared in interview with one of developers, who, of course, gave great
promises as was about screenplay, which doesn’t have simplistic good’n’bad men
and et cetera. Just common words, which only can check how true they are. Right
now, what is since May 6, for a limited time on damned Steam appeared the demo-version
of Ghostrunner.
Was spending
first minutes on installation of Steam and next few minutes on solving with
indication to where will situate the game, because that’s terrible service is
infirm to do it without a folder with a name “SteamLibrary”. When it was done,
I automatically blamed again Steam, Valve and personally Gabe Newell.
I was drinking
a lunch cup of tea tried to adapt to control for which needs not so long time
and where a reason lies that is “dash” on “left shift” near to “sliding” on “left
control”. Makes worse buttons, which don’t react on pressing or do another
action, what can conclude to death of unknown in name of a main character in
the game with death in one laser shot. Sometimes was misunderstanding on how a
personage was killed. Ghostrunner charms in music, cyberpunk design and
voice-over of character with a name Whisper. It is still a question, will all that
are well in full release. Gameplay gives tensions, which some of them appeared
before it in video watching. The game combines Prince of Persia and Dishonored –
a feeling since Gamescom. That’s my personal view, but protagonist isn’t
running and by it Ghostrunner loses an attraction pace. AI rises a
dissatisfaction in walkthrough, because they predict your dash and I
understood that straight attack gives more chances for survive. Hostiles always
stay on own point and willn’t follow for searching of you if move away from
them. Their laser shots can reflect, but enemies are impossible to knock on the
ground on high speed. Once it finished with one of those strange deaths. One
More Level, a studio is programming Ghostrunner, follows to a new trendy thing
in industry, which use dilettante developers and for it I don’t want to play in
their games anymore – kill all hostiles on level piece for open access to next
small part. There it in exploitation. And I think it will bring to tiresome in repeating of body cut animation, which is expecting.
It was the
demo-version of Ghostrunner, but I had a dislike to gameplay about which was that
thinking in watching. The game has a great conception, which I like. Graphics
isn’t for modern perfection, but I would rid from needless casual indicators. “Death
by one shot” failed in realization in this played part of the game. It will a
suffering in full playthrough with a goal taking of total completing if it
stays.
