Incredible wanderings among games of City Interactive.


A Polish studio CI Games in past called City Interactive and made infamous name as developer of one-hour substandard first person shooters, but they’re improving through years. Few months ago, I’m was getting pleasure from gameplay of Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts. In past, the year 2008, City Interactive on licensed Lithtech’s Jupiter EX engine released five games. Six appeared in the next couple of years. I was playing in some of them before and chose three now.


The Royal Marines Commando (November 14, 2008)

A man who try to be alike on Winston Churchill and crazy gameplay were promising to be a funny shooter. And it was. Protocol dialogs between characters and personally talks of Prime Minister, who is far from true. Three men team copied SAS: Secure Tomorrow (September 15, 2008), which copied from released two months ago, and familiar «hand» icon. I’ve got wild satisfaction from this, because well staged gameplay, a plot is fitting for relax and creativity element in flash grenade, which freezes time after throw. All that crossed flaws and I’ve completed it. Deletion of The Royal Marines Commando before titles I committed, because Nazi killings were without exquisitely. It sharped ruin sides of the game, where much bullets need for every soldier of Third Reich.

Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island (August 19, 2008)

Disembarking on coast French Guiana recalled identical landscape in played The Royal Marines Commando, where small team was escaping from Nazi forces. I presumably wrote something about it, that City Interactive a studio with a creative potential. They don’t lazy to give legs for their meaningless protagonists. In FAMAS, the weapon of French forces, have two curious variants: originally assault rifle and sniper sight, where can see how painstakingly playable character installs it. However, Code of Honor 2 isn’t liked exception. Enemy soldiers ask many bullets for die as in played in other games of Polish studio. Hostiles surprise only when become corpses.
A main protagonist in sergeant is eternal servant. Commanders without shame sent him alone on kill everybody and their reason to stay explains straight “we will wait here”. Officers will hurry even when the playable hero moves to execute mission in full throttle. Senior rank bullying. Though the protagonist doesn’t express disagreement and often requires to take initiative. The story doesn’t touch something philosophical or researching about be part of French Legion. In this nothing special screenplay was a good scene in the last, where I also like how it staged. That’s all.

Code of Honor 3: Desperate Measures (August 21, 2009)

O, Paris. Cette belle ville! De superbes bâtiments historiques, du fromage puant et de la baguette fraîche. What am I about? Unquiet time came in France. Enhancing of organize criminal activity pushed government of the Fifth Republic to use French Foreign Legion inside of the country. Sounds strange for me if check a quantity of personal statistics in comparison with French Army at least. Code of Honor 3 has similar menu as in Code of Honor 2, design of some levels from SAS: Secure Tomorrow and Armed Forces Corp., but Code of Honor 3 is different game, which I like it.
If usually in City Interactive’s shooters can openly breakthrough with loud screams into premises, in this game act tactical. Enemies not only can lie down a protagonist in few bullets, but their artificial intelligence is savvy active and using covers. Improvement did in damage system of tangos, where is reasonable quantity of shots for kill. City Interactive did brilliant till impress in physics. Oh, yeah. Falling huge shadows in sunset rooms. Enemies don’t funny die (an interesting case was with one corpse, who shotgun was looking in ceiling after kill.). Despite on pattern exploitation of few levels, developers designed exciting levels and wrote a good story, which holds under excellent directing. Of course, it’s about another main hero without characteristics, which never rise of he’s soldier of French Legion. Carter, his doesn’t rich surname, immediately tires in running and breaths really as a man who has obesity. Had a place for curious experiment. I detected, when don’t participate in shooting and nobody hostile there – plays quiet music. If in this place make a shot – music will loud.
Was walking through rooms of corporate building in Paris I sometimes look in windows, where I saw a beautiful landscapes of Paris with must Eiffel Tower and frozen smoke from factory’s tube. The city was too shocked.


CI Games is studio for which is interesting observe. I was thinking about to play in Battlestrike: Force of Resistance 2 and eventually I decided that is no need after watched videos.

Accidental Back in 2019. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.



A fail was feeling before release and became definitive in watched videos, but I didn’t miss opportunity to play due of doesn’t leaving boredom, overcoming in watching films, as same in reading books, and writing without fire of own novel for which as everything if I will succeed to publish, I’m likely will deported from this planet. So, I launched this game.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint haven’t sympathies before taking control of playable protagonist. I’ve spent hours to launch campaign until recalled a variant to use function “verify files” in UPlay. I could whole this process describe in poetry, but I willn’t do it.

First mission was find and deal with settings. It wasn’t easy to locate, but a lot of time was with creation of personage, where choice limited in shape of face, hairs on head and face, color of eyes and hairs, scars or burns and with no wide variety. I didn’t find likeable hair! Developers didn’t allow also character rotation, what shocked me, when I started the game and saw Japanese skin. I recreated the protagonist.

Directing is predictably guessable... Nightmare of screenplay comes to staging of storytelling... Jon Bernthal is definition of catastrophic acting… A trivial open-world game, which filled of stereotypes. The main hero completes pile of missions, which don’t relate to his goal. Action of presenting opposition forces express only in giving assignments, what means that territory will liberated in lone.

Configured Ghost Recon Breakpoint on realistic, what gives nice possibilities to play without cross aim, drop of clip with bullets after reload (what about to keep it as in Mafia and Hitman: Codename 47?), developers achieved in transmitting of bandaging of wounded main character and I was in pleasure in looking for without points destination places. And that’s all. Ubisoft forgot some details in accuracy in shooting. Chaotic recoil even happens when full body on the ground. Sometimes protagonist lost a wish to stop look in aim in time of shooting and also sometimes don’t follow to command to lie down. I always did a double three-shots for kill a weird human AI and big quantity bullets sent into a drone. Breakpoint has things not for realistic mode. Casual a detection indicator stays in little. The game don’t be serious in missions, where kill everybody without noise were doing with no reason (just few men in deep forests.), what demonstrate arcade element here. I had a longing thinking on first Ghost Recon (2001) in playing.

Impressive physics in Ghost Recon Breakpoint is having in excellent innovation things in climbing up and slide down from slope and walking through water. They give a movement feel. Otherwise, physics doesn’t relate on car driving. Known mistake, when easy side turn will conclude to collision with a wood fence, which doesn’t break. Common, what explains as unnatural, active movement of leafs and flowers happens without any wind and between many trees. Not only in the wood fence, but also I had crashes on desktop. Still trouble game after few months.

Conflict goes in fiction island Auroa and flashback occurs in “Middle-East”. Ubisoft gave a promise to avoid political topics after scandal with Far Cry 5. Maybe, Ghost Recon Breakpoint became their first game. It enhances anxious on next Splinter Cell, because Tom Clancy’s games never had fiction basement in everything. Few days ago was released for this observing game a new DLC with Sam Fisher, who made a second appearance in Ghost Recon series. I’ll write in form of slogan: “A terrible screenplay, but Michael Ironside never down his grace”. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint couldn’t hold me for complete walkthrough at least for decency. I knew before and I got a confidence to enough.
