Incredible wanderings among games of City Interactive.


A Polish studio CI Games in past called City Interactive and made infamous name as developer of one-hour substandard first person shooters, but they’re improving through years. Few months ago, I’m was getting pleasure from gameplay of Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts. In past, the year 2008, City Interactive on licensed Lithtech’s Jupiter EX engine released five games. Six appeared in the next couple of years. I was playing in some of them before and chose three now.


The Royal Marines Commando (November 14, 2008)

A man who try to be alike on Winston Churchill and crazy gameplay were promising to be a funny shooter. And it was. Protocol dialogs between characters and personally talks of Prime Minister, who is far from true. Three men team copied SAS: Secure Tomorrow (September 15, 2008), which copied from released two months ago, and familiar «hand» icon. I’ve got wild satisfaction from this, because well staged gameplay, a plot is fitting for relax and creativity element in flash grenade, which freezes time after throw. All that crossed flaws and I’ve completed it. Deletion of The Royal Marines Commando before titles I committed, because Nazi killings were without exquisitely. It sharped ruin sides of the game, where much bullets need for every soldier of Third Reich.

Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island (August 19, 2008)

I presumably wrote something about it, that City Interactive a studio with a creative potential. They don’t lazy to give legs for their meaningless protagonists. In FAMAS, the weapon of French forces, have two curious variants: originally assault rifle and sniper sight, where can see how painstakingly playable character installs it. However, Code of Honor 2 isn’t liked exception. Enemy soldiers ask many bullets for die as in played in other games of Polish studio. Hostiles surprise only when become corpses.
A main protagonist in sergeant is eternal servant. Commanders without shame sent him alone on kill everybody and their reason to stay explains straight “we will wait here”. Officers will hurry even when the playable hero moves to execute mission in full throttle. Senior rank bullying. Though the protagonist doesn’t express disagreement and often requires to take initiative. The story doesn’t touch something philosophical or researching about be part of French Legion. In this nothing special screenplay was a good scene in the last, where I also like how it staged. That’s all.

Code of Honor 3: Desperate Measures (August 21, 2009)

O, Paris. Cette belle ville! De superbes bâtiments historiques, du fromage puant et de la baguette fraîche. What am I about? Unquiet time came in France. Sounds strange for me if check a quantity of personal statistics in comparison with French Army at least. Code of Honor 3 has similar menu as in Code of Honor 2, design of some levels from SAS: Secure Tomorrow and Armed Forces Corp., but Code of Honor 3 is different game, which I like it.
If usually in City Interactive’s shooters can openly breakthrough with loud screams into premises, in this game act tactical. Enemies not only can lie down a protagonist in few bullets, but their artificial intelligence is savvy active and using covers. Improvement did in damage system of tangos, where is reasonable quantity of shots for kill. City Interactive did brilliant till impress in physics. Oh, yeah. Falling huge shadows in sunset rooms. Enemies don’t funny die (an interesting case was with one corpse, who shotgun was looking in ceiling after kill.). Despite on pattern exploitation of few levels, developers designed exciting levels and wrote a good story, which holds under excellent directing. Of course, it’s about another main hero without characteristics, which never rise of he’s soldier of French Legion. Carter, his doesn’t rich surname, immediately tires in running and breaths really as a man who has obesity. Had a place for curious experiment. I detected, when don’t participate in shooting and nobody hostile there – plays quiet music. If in this place make a shot – music will loud.
Was walking through rooms of corporate building in Paris I sometimes look in windows, where I saw a beautiful landscapes of Paris with must Eiffel Tower and frozen smoke from factory’s tube. The city was too shocked.


CI Games is studio for which is interesting observe. I was thinking about to play in Battlestrike: Force of Resistance 2 and eventually I decided that is no need after watched videos.
