Notes at the Ruins. #17.

#17. Gamescom. Dead Awkward Night.

What is the worst: be in boredom or watch opening of Gamescom? Twelve minutes of additional waiting and two hours of teasers. Pre-show, main show, hosts Geoff Keighley and Kyle Bosman give synonyms of “awful”. Event demonstrated that it wasn’t ready. Even without it, I shivered from words “the future of gaming” again.
It was show with no of true gameplay, which was only in one console exclusive in the very end. I don’t like cinematic trailers, because they have nothing common with game’s screenplay. Long of this kind was video of a game with Warcraft trademark. Almost seven minutes. I would watch that’s broadcasting if not Chorus to which I haven’t great expectations. Promised video with gameplay was without it. Presumably, Chorus is one more limited budget game of Deep Silver, which sounds epic.
The show hadn’t necessity to be two hours. Why these questions to unknown people? And I never can understand awarding of unreleased games.
Dead curiosity turned to disgusting when I saw what did with Mafia. A great drama falls down by offense in directing, stale voiceover and dolls of strange people with known names. I have scorn to Take-Two Interactive since destroying of Illusion Softworks. Now I can’t anymore even allow to download their games. Especially they have no on their disastrous RAGE engine with mannequin body physics.

Nacon still doesn’t show gameplay of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood. I don’t care about poor graphics, which can see in every their game and I have a thought that it will here, and I’m ready to look on these lifebars, but I’m suspicious on overall game’s quality. Maybe that’s mystery due of it?
